INSTRUCTIONS

Specific things to note

•  use one of 10 typefaces provided
•  takes Technical and aesthetic expertise. Includes all of what we’ve learned
• typographically social message or greeting that is relevant to the taylors community/ society as a large
• save as PNG, PDF, upload to G-drive and embed into portfolio
•  screen grab your phone with the sticker sent
• can use minimal colour
• will be used in selected platforms like telegram, WhatsApp
•  must be attractive, functional and visually impactful sticker
• Use adobe illustrator and photoshop 
•  must animate the message
•  must be 512px X 512px, 72 dpI
• send sticker PNG to telegrams @stickerator bot if have issues

What greeting did I choose?

I chose the "Happy Earth Day" greeting. It is a festival dedicated to the protection of the world's environment. Now that the earth is seriously polluted, I hope that people can participate in the environmental protection movement and improve the overall environment of the earth through green and low-carbon life.

According to Mr. Vinod's request, we need to design 5 sketches, in order to make the later work easier. I directly use the digitization of the draft to design and create

For the 5 sketches, the meaning is slightly better, so I color-adjusted it.

In order to make this sphere look more smooth and comfortable, I imported it into ai for refinement

I had to send the PNG file to the sticker bot (@Stickers) and follow the bot's instructions to add extra stickers to the pack. It's hard to find a name or add a fun name to the bag as the bots will reject most of them, so I simply named it "weijie work". I finished the package with the /publish command and stickers are available.

Reflection:  

Experience: Creating stickers is fun for me, but creating typographic stickers is a whole new experience for me. This task is also challenging because we are limited in terms of using 10 fonts and a minimum of graphic elements. In this process, I dedicate myself to the intellectual exploration and study of composition. After all the trial and error, I was happy to see the final sticker result and post it on the Telegram sticker pack.  

 

Observation: With this exercise, I realized that typography plays an important role in connecting ideas and information, even in small sizes. By choosing the right font and considering size and readability, a greater visual impression is given to the viewer. In the black and white version we can better analyze the composition in terms of fonts and visual elements.  

 

Discovery: In this modern era, stickers are becoming more and more popular, and they have the power to spread virally. It's not just a marketing tool, it's also an entertainment for people to connect every relationship in a better way. People have fun using digital stickers, making them feel like children, happily engrossed in the sticker book. The best part of the sticker is the small vision, which expresses emotions and thoughts the fastest.
