WEEK 1 - < What is the rationale? >
Oxford Dictionary
Rationale: Explain the principles or reasons for a particular decision, course of action, belief, etc.
The rationale for your research is the reason for conducting the research. The rationale should answer the need to conduct the above-mentioned study. This is a very important part of your publication as it proves the importance and novelty of the study. That's why it's also called research. Ideally, your research should be structured as observations, rationale, assumptions, goals, methods, results, and conclusions.
• A problem statement is a concise description of an issue to be addressed or a condition to be improved upon.
• It identifies the gap between the current (problem) state and desired (goal) state of a process or product.
• A problem statement paves the way for the reader to understand the research problem.
