01 - RESEARCH

Personal experience with "Burnout"

Personal: Share personal burnout experiences on a blog (final project category). Writing time is limited to 30 minutes.

Ever since I was younger, I've always loved doing things like art. It always helps me pass the time and sometimes even focus. However, I started drawing very little when I was in middle school and only did art during class. I feel like I have a lot less fun with it than I used to, and I start comparing myself to my peers a lot, which makes me feel insecure about my creations. From then on, when I drew again, I felt like I really couldn't have fun anymore, and at one point I stopped drawing altogether to have fun. I was only able to draw again after entering a series around high school because I felt inspired after seeing people drawing art for it. I was also encouraged by an art friend, so I tried painting again. Since then, I have started drawing again in my free time and love to draw again. Sometimes, I still feel that feeling, I hate drawing, or I feel like I'm not doing well enough and it makes me want to stop again, but I'm never bad enough that I don't paint for a long time.

02 - MOODBOARD

After some group research, we pursued more stylized characters

For this project, we had discussions, and from there we divided our characters, and I got sketches of the characters drawing some scenes for the animation. There were others who did the descriptions to visualize the scenes.

I was assigned to green panels 6a-6e, I did my best to outline my group members to provide text descriptions, and to draw them.

Task Delegation

Script decomposition, role assignment

I used AI to complete this part of the drawing, and during this time I kept asking other people's opinions and constantly changing it.

Final sketches I made for the animation

After everyone has finished the part of the sketch, our team leader assembles the drawing into an animation and turns it into a straightforward animation:

Sketch animation: burnout

03: Animation

After creating the sketch, we discussed the final result and created a mood board for our final video.
We started by talking about the characters, as well as the color scheme, the fonts

The final character, color, and font selection

Then we made the task assignment - I'm in charge of roles "B" and "D"

Then I started creating my characters, and I went to Pinterest to find a lot of material
Some expression action guidance

In the drawing of the AI painting, I have always remembered to classify each plate of the layer to facilitate the final animation later

Characters I made for animated videos

After receiving feedback, our team decided to make some adjustments to the artistic style of the asset. The asset outline is removed and changed to a more hand-drawn style.

And We divide the workload into 3 groups, one will be in charge of perfecting all the assets, one will animate and the other will design the background, add music and compile everything.

reflection

This experience made me realize that when we compare ourselves to others, we can easily fall into a state of anxiety and self-doubt, which can diminish our interest and enjoyment. I learned to let go of those comparisons with others and focus on my own creativity and artistic exploration. I also learned that art is not just about demonstrating our skills or meeting a standard, but about self-expression and creativity. I realized that when I was drawing, I should enjoy the process and express myself instead of worrying about what others would say about my work. I also learned to find inspiration from the people and environment around me, which helped to stimulate my creativity and allowed me to express myself more confidently.

Overall, the experience taught me to let go of comparisons and self-doubt and focus on my own artistic creativity and exploration, and draw inspiration from the people and circumstances around me. These lessons in my life are not just as important as they apply to art but are equally important in other ways
